My Sophomore Year so Far...
My Sophomore year so far has been...
Interesting,
Fun,
Exciting,
Stressful,
Busy,
Social,
Delicious,
Educational.
Interesting because this year is shockingly different from last year. I used to be able to just walk to presidential court and see 20 people I knew walking around within ten minutes, and now that 3/4 of my friends live off campus or in the apartment dorms, I have to be more direct in finding people to hang out with.
Fun because I missed my friends during the summer. I was lucky enough to be here and close to a couple of them for the last couple months, but I am really glad to be surrounded almost exclusively by my peers again.
Exciting because I have a whole new life. Once again, pretty much my world has been turned around and inside-out, I have new interesting classes, new friends, a new side to the activities like Ignite I'm in. Its been crazy busy and I have wasted very few minutes since I've moved in.
Stressful because I have a lot to get used to, and a larger workload than I've ever had before. I have finally started Engineering classes, and I love the material for the most part, its just a lot of time working at the computer, trying to master every topic.
Busy because I have all these new classes, all my friends to catch up with, and because I decided to go through Rush this year. I'll go more into detail at the end of this Blog about all that. I have been go-go-go so much for the last two weeks I don't get nearly as much time to talk to my parents as I would like, but once I get into a good pattern it will be a lot easier.
Social because of Rush, Friends, new Classes, Ignite teams, and new floormates.
Delicious because I have the Varsity Inn Dining plan. The Varsity is in Gibbs, and its all you can eat 3 meals a day, 5 days a week. The food there is very good, and I always get to have Jell-O. Its sort of my tradition to have orange jello for dessert after dinner. So far I've had Steak, Popcorn Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Spaghetti, all sorts of breakfast food, and lots of other stuff.
Educational because I learned a lot about Greek life, and I have been learning a ton in classes. All this homework can get old, but I learn stuff and it is burned into my mind. I also learned a little bit more what its like to be an adult. I have more responsibilities than last year, and I'm really proud of how much I actually can accomplish. Time management is a skill you learn when there is too much on your plate, but you have to eat every bit before the clock runs out. (don't hate, I like that comparison)
Overall, this is pretty much most of my life so far. I have been having fun, but its more serious that last year. I am most happy with my new floormates, and my friends from last year. All these people are making everything a lot easier to handle.
I know I said I was going to talk about Greek Life in this Blog, but it is way too much to go into write now. Trust me, I just had it all written in here, and it deserves its own whole blog. I will have it up by next week, and it's pretty good.
